Red and Burlap Christmas Mantel

I have finally finished all of my Christmas decorations and put all of the boxes up.  I can't tell you how happy I am to be finished, to only take it down in three weeks.

I started decorating my mantel a couple of weeks ago with the focal point being the cross.  The cross to me resembles what Christmas is all about.  I love that it nestles perfectly in the niche!  I then started grabbing stuff from my Christmas stash and went from there.  The great thing is, I did not have to buy anything new this year.  I just re-used everything I had in a different way.  Let me show you how I came up with this look.

The garland was pre-lit and I just added some burlap ribbon I purchased from Michael's last year and took floral wire to add the Christmas ornaments.

When I started adding the ornaments, I started from the center with the bigger ornament and worked my way out to the left and right.  I find that this way is easier to get a more uniformed look.

The hurricane lamps are filled with an assortment of red ornaments...

The two Christmas trees on either side were purchased from Michael's last year on clearance after the holidays.  Sometimes that is the best time to find the deals.

The Santa Claus is sitting on a rod iron sleigh with a little Christmas tree that I wrapped in burlap.

To add the finishing touch, I tied three of the wicker bells and placed them on either side securing them with a big 3M command strip.

The little table is sitting behind one of the living room chairs with a hurricane lamp, Christmas tree and candle.  I decided to do something a little different then last year with the lamp and continued the red and burlap theme.  Here is what I did last year if you are interested in seeing it.

A quick tie of some burlap ribbon and I had a bow for the top.  I hung a big red glitter ornament inside it with a battery operated candle.

I hope you enjoyed taking a look at my Christmas mantel.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!
